There are lots of ways to control anger, but it depends which one is right for you because there isn't a way which works for everyone.
Sometimes it is a good idea to find an activity where you can vent any pent up anger you have in a non destructive way, eg you could take up a vigorous sport such as ice hockey or boxing.
Some people find that relaxation techniques help them to deal with losing their temper, such as "inhaling positive feelings" and "exhaling negative feelings" or counting to 10 very slowly, or some slow breathing. Yoga would be ideal if you're into relaxation techniques as well as it gives a sense of peace and tranquility.
A good thing to teach yourself, is to not be "angry" that something has happened, but be "annoyed" or "upset" instead. With that in mind it might be easier to dull the anger emotion and create much less stress on yourself. Make sure you stay rational or you will never sort through any problems, and they will just make you angry again next time.
Depending on your reasons for being angry, sometimes it is good to talk to a person who has made you angry as calmly as you can, just to let them know they have "upset" or "annoyed" you.
The main goal is to stay rational, so you can control yourself. When people lose their temper it is hard to solve anything and all it does is create stress+++ for everyone involved.
Keep in mind that you want to SOLVE problems, not make them bigger.
Good luck and I hope that helps!

Anger is devastating in its effects. It creates illusion which destroys memory which impairs intelligence and which then distracts you from your avowed goal--not just small consequences! You seem to be aware of the fact that anger is bad perse and you are on your quest for controlling it. This is good enough to begin with.
Now, a very comprehensive strategy may be required to control anger. To begin with, please repeat the above noted consequences of anger As many times as possible during day time and when at work. Then, learn to laugh. Find out a smiling face to befriend. Try every day to sit on a chair with your back in the straight position, keep your eyes closed and just do not think about anything whatsoever--make your mind vacuous. After this, give a huge hearty laughter. This exercise may even change your basic nature and you may yourself become a person so much sought after as a smiley friend. Please understand and appreciate that anger does not yield anything positive. Finally, avoid things and items of consumption which cause discomfort and irritation. You are the best persons to list them out. Drink plenty of water. Good luck to you.

Regular aerobic exercise. In the mean time, taking deep breaths and counting slowly to 10. Or walk away for a few minutes to cool down. Take anger management course.

if im angry all the time then its usually something that has been bothering me for awhile. Try to always be aware of whats going on. Also if I didnt do sports I would probably take my aggressions out in the wrong ways.

By changing your response to the stimuli that makes you angry.. such as traffic, rude people.. Lot's of things(other people's behavior for one) you can't change.. One or both of your parents might have been the same way.. Some or all of it could be learned behavior.
