how would this affect tourisim? would people go on holiday? where would they go? How would Hong Kong be different if air travel had not been invented????????????????????????????

If airplanes had not been invented, tourism would have been badly affected. The tourist industry would probably not have even emerged in certain countries.
People would still travel but by ships, which would make trips longer. Moreover, with the short vacation periods nowadays, people would probably not be able to afford to spend so long in traveling by ships. For travel on mainland, people could always have recourse to trains.

Boats would be popular, vactions would have to be longer besides tourism, business would be totally affected, mail too and not to mention travel
