i used nair on my upper lip and didn't do the test like i should have. big mistake!!! i left it on for 5-6 minutes like it said and it was stinging the whole way through, i assumed this was just the cream working. i did not rub it on to the skin either. As i took the cream off most of the hair came too but i have been left with severly burnt skin, scabs and blisters. it is only the 2nd day of having them and i have been applying antisepctic cream, but how on earth do i get rid of these scabs and how long will they take to heal?

Chemical burns are severe and can take many days if not many weeks to heal. There could be scarring that will last forever. I assumed you flushed the area for at least 15 minutes when you washed it off. I was under the impression that nair was not for facial hair. Perhaps you will be lucky this time and in a couple of weeks they will be healed.

In looking at the injuries your described... blisters, scabs, it seems as if you sustained a second degree burn. If you simply clean it daily and apply an antiseptic ointment, the wound should not become infected. In that case, your lip should heal in less than 2 weeks. If you notice drainage, pus discharge or swelling with increased pain, the wound may be infected and you will need to seek medical care.

Try Vitamin E oil or cream. It may help prevent scarring too.
