I'm not sure I understand what you are asking for, but here goes!

I have a moral code that basically says " Treat others the way you want to be treated". Various ancient peoples and texts pretty much sum it up this way as well. From this one statement you can come up with a set of moral values that cover theft, killing, honoring your elders, and so on.

Character building comes into play when you are faced with a situation that contradicts your moral values. You either choose to go against them or follow your morals and face the consequences of either choice. Either way you learn a lesson.

I simply cite the scriptures. on the basis of (2 Timothy 3:16-17) All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

Experiencing hardship moulds character-there isn't an easy way to develop it.
