whether it be drugs, alcohol, internet, food, whatever? What do you think are proper ways to go about this?

Oh, and I'm not saying I'm addicted to drugs or anything, I just want to know how to stop habits that are not benefitting you in any way.

Get counseling. Let the professionals help you.

first recognize that you have an addiction (to whatever)
second find someone to take to about it (friend, family,etc)
third try and find a solution...and try to find a way to stop w/support
fourth if you can't find professional help.....blah.. blah.. blah..
or that is what I would do...?!?

get your mind pre-occupied on something else. something that wont trigger ur addiction
