According to current protocol, it's most likely that ages 18-25 will be drafted. Currently, women cannot be drafted since a draft is supposed to supply combat troops, and women are currently prohibited from serving in combat rolls. If a draft does happen, it will start out with 20 year-olds, followed by 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, then 19 and 18.
There is another draft for health care workers called the Health Care Personnel Delivery System, where people in various medical specialties can be drafted from ages 20 to 54.

There are lawmakers trying to reinstitute the draft. Doubtful it will happen but they were saying 18-35. And yes women can be drafted too under this new law that is up for a vote. Last time they voted it did not pass. The past wars the draft was 18-24 now they are trying to expand it a bit. By the way we are at war, turn on the news.

It will have to be a very big war before there is a draft. There's not much use for cannon fodder in today's military. And that is basically all you have when you have a draft.
Think about what we had with the old draft. You did two years of service (which you had no desire to do). That gave the military time to put you through basic training, a little (very little) advanced training, then they shipped you out to where ever. That meant they got about a year and a half use out of you max, (less if you got killed) then you were gone and had to be replaced.
The military DOES NOT want to have to spend the time to train new bodies. That's why they want volunteers. They want people who will make a longer commitment and are motivated to do the job rather than have the goal of getting out.
The draft is a different kind of scare tactic to get you to vote differently. IF we go to a draft we are in deep trouble.

There will not be a draft. But the draft age would be 18-35. Enlistment age will be as is now, 17-35. (17 with parental consent)

The draft age is already established by law. It stands at 18 to 26 at present.

The potential draftee pool is made up of male U.S. residents between the ages of 18 and 25. Under current law, women cannot be drafted, as the Department of Defense does not employ them in ground combat (click here for details). A few select groups of men are also excused automatically. These groups include:
Men who are actively serving in the military
Men who are attending a military service academy or select university military officer procurement program
Foreign citizens in the United States on valid student, visitor or diplomatic visas
Certain foreign agricultural workers
Men who are confined to a hospital or psychiatric institution
Handicapped men who cannot function in public
Inmates
All other men between 18 and 25 are legally required to register with the Selective Service within 30 days of reaching eligibility.

I think the draft age should be about three to four years after the voting age. It should be inverse of what they had during Vietnam. This way people can participate in the political process before it drafts them. Conscription, should be like taxation, not without representation. Drafting people before they've had the chance to vote is conscription without representation.
