I have been diognosed with alledge "scizophrenia" for a number of years now, currantly i'm on a CTO to ensure i take medication, currantly i'm only taking 50mg of Haldol every 6 weeks, i have had a number of epesodes over the years, however the last epsode i had i believe that i have been cured, the reason i feel cured now is i believe that the previose epesodes were never cured...
Due to my experiance with this alledge illness, i feel i now have the abilty to recognise any symptoms of an onset of this alledge "illness" and to be able to seek treatment if i need to do so and i have proven this abilty...
I have a Mental Health and the CTO tribunal every 6 months, they ask me the same questions every time, how do i prove to them that i have the abillty to take medication without a CTO order ( the only reason i want to do that is to bullshit me way out of having to take medication as i honestly do not believe at this point in time i need to be on medication)...

I wasn't aware that schizophrenia was "curable", per se. I would do more research on the disease, if I were you. It's common for sufferers to think they're cured when they're not. Just when you think you don't need your medication, you go out and do something you'll regret. If I were you, I would diligently take my medication on a regular basis, until you can find documented cases of the disease being cured. I don't think you're going to have much luck, though.

This isn't meant to necessarily sound like a smartass comment, but now I thin kyou may be a little dellusioinal as well, because scizophrenia isn't curable just because you can tell when you are going to have an "episode." It actually isn't curable at all, and is really only controlable with the medications, your doctor isn't giving you all the meds in an attempt to cure you. You should consider yourself lucky that you only have to take meds every six weeks instead of every day like a lot of people with scizophrenia and stop complaining that you have to have a CTO every 6 weeks. You can't cure yourself.

I think you should realize that they are not ordering you to take medication to bully you, or harm you, but because it has been proved that you can never really recover form schizophrenia, and the medication is needed.
Sure, now you can recognize the symptoms, but most likely is it that once a new episode start you won't recognize it, or won't realize that that is what is happening.
Part of the disease it that you think you don't need medication - I've worked with a number of schizophrenics, and the vast majority says they don't need it - and then they stop taking it and have an episode.
I think you should try and find a way to work WITH the system, not against it.
Good luck!!

They aren't corrupt! You, by definition, are insane when off your meds. You have clearly proved this to the court by your past behavior. Schizophrenia is a disease that makes you think that you don't have a disease!!! This is why you have a CTO, because you keep convincing yourself that you are fine off of your meds! By definition, you don't have the ability to recognize the onset of your symptoms.
Since you have a problem with this, let me point out that your question " Is Mental Health Corrupt"? is paranoid and you seem to be unable to recognize what you have been ordered to do is not for you, but rather to keep you from being a danger to the public, which you had to be in order to get a court order. Either that or be declared unable to care for your affairs. I think that you need to think about what the real reasons that you are on CTO are and consider that you may be out of touch with reality still!

schizophrenia is a very serious disorder that does require medication for life..... there is no cure..
one of the symptoms of schizophrenia is the kind of thinking you display here in your question. If you feel the doctors are conning you, tricking you or that they are corrupt it is likely that this is a paranoid phase kicking in with your condition. You will need to take this question to your doctors so that they know this is happening as it is likely you will need more or different kinds of medication not less...
please take this very seriously as you need more help not less.. sadly it seems that schizophrenia is a condition that tricks the sufferer into thinking that they can cure themselves or have already been cured when in fact the condition is getting worse not better....

the biggest problem for some people with a psychiatric diagnosis, is that when medicated, they feel better, and are able to think better, and feel they can handle their life better, but don't realize that it is the medication making them feel this way. sounds like when you are on medication, you do not believe you have a mental illness. there is no cure for schizophrenia, and the symptoms, with out medication always reappear. the problem with trying to identify your symptoms, if they reappear, is that you may not recognize them. the mental health system always has lots of people to look after, and their is no advantage to them telling you that you have a mental illness, and keeping you on medication for no reason, so therefore i don't believe the mental health system is corrupt. i know it is difficult for you, but it seems you are fighting the system, and denying your illness, which will make your life more unhappy. once you accept your illness, and the fact you need medication, your life may be easier. hope this helps you

Please don't go off your meds because you are feeling better. You are probably feeling better BECAUSE OF your meds! The last thing you want to do is risk having another psychotic break and end up hospitalized because you stopped your medications. If you are unhappy with the side effects of your meds, talk with your doctor, therapist, etc. about an alternative, but it's usually not a good idea to just completely stop any regular meds without consulting a professional first!

"Haldol controls the symptoms of your schizophrenia and if you stopped taking the drug, then your symptoms would only recur."
that is all I could find...?... and I really don't know anything about you, but I do believe we all know when something is right and when it isn't. I would sit down with my doctor and explain my thinking..and if that one didn't listen -then I would try to find another one for a second opinion.
