We are moving to Cyprus this year and need to find out which airports allow dogs to fly to Cyprus. Do Newcastle, Durham Tees Valley or Manchester airport? Plus, does anyone know how much it costs for this?

It isn't so much the airport you need to think about, but the airlines who will carry your dog. I think British Airways carry dogs. Last time I asked it was something like £10 a kilo. Your dog may have to get shots before anybody will fly it anywhere.

Hope you enjoy Cyprus.

No airports transport dogs to Cyprus or anywhere else. You need airplanes, ships, or motor vehicles for that. For Cyprus it would have to be by plane or ship as it is an island.

Actually, it's not just the aeroports but the airlines themselves you need to check out for transporting animals. You can look them up on the Internet by using key words.
Find out what type of cage is needed, have all veterinary papers of examination and shots, ID tags, if the cargo-hold is heated and pressurised. Bon voyage! :)

I brought my dog to Turkey and found that it is best to contact Ministry of Agriculture(MAFF)They were very helpfull and sent paperwork explaining what docs, size of crate or carrying box required etc.If you travel with animal it counts as baggage and you pay excess if you send animal alone it is frieght and different rules apply. There are companies on net who will do everything for you but it is expensive
