I think you could in fact have something here

I'm going to interpret judgement day as the end of mankind.

The bible so far has led to the US support of the state of Israel and the persecution of the Palestinians. Leading to all sorts of complex difficult problems.

It gave birth to the three religions that have caused some of the worst bloodshed or been part of the worst bloodshed in the last 4000 years.

The teachings of the bible are helping to perpetuate the modern plague - HIV/AIDS by not allowing people to take a precaution that is very simple and very cheap.

Know that's a bit political but thought I'd open Pandora's box so to speak - Whether this has anything to do with gods plan however is antibody's guess

The contents of the current Bible were decided by a 15th Century committee. There was a lot that was left out and much that was not considered or only just recently discovered. I personally look forward to The Bible Volume 2, The Missing Bits.

I personally think the Bible is a early edition of the self help books. Today self help books say do this and do that. The Bible tells you this is what happened to someone when they done something and it worked out or didnt work out for them.

In addition, it is many authors interpretation through the ages of what went on and as it was translated, words would be changed to be better understood by different languages.

Joe S suffers not merely from poor literacy but from a poor brain. The bible was written by many human beings a long time ago. They lived at a time when science was at a low level and so attributed many things to an imagined god. This is similar to many other primitive societies that had their own fabricated mythologies.

That is complete nonsense, as is the the myriad of religions spawned from the bible and in particular the old testament. Frankly your remarks show a great deal of ignorance concerning the bible. I suggest you do a little research on the Council of Nicea for a start.

The main point in the Bible is that man cannot achieve forgiveness of and victory over sins by obeying the law (Old Covenant) by his own self effort. God by His grace has provided His Son, Jesus Christ, as atonement for our sins and to conquer death for us to give us eternal life. Jesus has paid the full price to obtain our forgiveness and blessings from God. To obtain these benefits all we have to do is just to believe Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Those who do not believe deny themselves of the gift of Jesus and the escape of God's judgement for their sins. Judgement will now come down on anyone who does not believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior, no other reason. Of course those believers who love the Lord will want to be like Him to bless others and earn rewards in heaven. This is a simple and short summary.

I heard some say that the bible for them is like a manual on how to live their lives. Yes the judgement day is also mentioned there but it also said to keep your faith strong until it comes. And please check your capitalization and grammar usage before passing a question.
