Human ability for pattern recognition is among the reasons why we are so successful as a species. We recognize when it is good to sow and harvest. We recognize dangerous or favorable situations with greater acuity than any other species.
But we also assign importance to mundane phenomena. Such are superstitions. Most are harmless, but it is important to be vigilant where superstition affects our personal welfare.

Really, I do not believe that performing or not performing some actions brings good or bad luck . I know, and think that a superstition is the irrational belief that future events are influenced by specific behaviours, without having a causal relationship. It describes what motivates people to adopt superstitions - ignorance and fear of the unknown. Superstitions are, indeed, a "false conception of causation" which inevitably leads to "trust in magic". the only part I disagree with is the trust in chance. Superstitions are organising principles. They serve as alternatives to other worldviews, such as religion or science. Superstitions seek to replace chance with an "explanation" replete with the power to predict future events and establish chains of causes and effects. So clearly, superstitions are not a real premonition are not a real premonition but created by the always-interfering humans to fantasise a conclusion to questions.

I think the only superstition that makes any sense is the admonition not to walk under a ladder. Someone up there on the higher rungs could drop a hammer or a can of paint.

i have had desires like this as well, for instance, i had a dream i went to the zoo with my pal and we were at a blue picnic bench and that i peered lower than the table (for a reason i do not undergo in concepts). a month later, she noted as me and had to bypass to the zoo and that i obliged, and had forgot about my dream. yet when we were given to the nutrients courtroom and sat at a blue picnic bench, it dawned on me, and because then, i have self belief finished heartily that it is real. there turned right into a minimum of one different incidence like this on the problem of desires, yet i do not undergo in concepts them as obviously. also, often times i imagine about human beings randomly from my previous and they take position out of nowhere very quickly after. for instance, my pal from kindergarten (distinct human being than above). i hadn't seen her because common college and that i'm now in severe college. very last 12 months (nonetheless throughout severe college), i had idea about how i went to her party and there turned right into a leap homestead, and under no circumstances longer than a week later, i become on the metro-rail and that i observed her.

Superstitions come from old folk and wives tales. If you believe in them, they will come true, like anything else you TRUELY believe in. It's all in the mind.
