Hi country girl!!
Premature delivery does occur but it is not as common as thought. Often these so-called premature deliveries have been an error in mating dates or a miscalculation in gestation period.
Truly premature puppies may be small, thin and have little or no hair. Survival is possible but they require an enormous amount of care and often have to be hand fed since they are unable to suckle. Sometimes they have to be fed by stomach tube (gavage feeding). If necessary, your veterinarian will show you how to do this. Please look: http://www.askedweb.com/askedweb/Problems_At_Birth/

Poor diet and maintanence-some breeds need more pre-natal care than others-some like bulls have difficulty with the size and shape of the head and may deliver prematuring due to the positioning of the pups-maybe to many pups for her to carry if she has had a hernia or operation that may have made her more volnerable to not being able to carry to full term-dogs need to be checked and given vitimins and minerals sometimes before becoming pregnant just like humans-and of course maybe just being loved and cared for twice as much during their pregnancy.

according to what my vet told me their not considered premature unless theyre born before their 58 day of pregnancy and that counting from the first day they lock up she told me a dog can have pups anytime between 58 to 70 days safely anything more than 70 days contact your vet p.s. if their too early their organs wont be completely formed and the pups will die my vet also told me this could happen from inbreeding good luck with the pups

The environment she is littering may not be condusive for her. You know dogs are very sensitive. Mine once had to leave where she was put to litter somewhere. If she is not well fed, it could constitute a diterent.

The size and shape of her uterus dictates when she with give birth so it may just be a genetic defect meaning she'll never be able to carry a litter to full term. Please just have her spayed to prevent her further distress from whelping dead pups.

what kind of food are you feeding her? it's a new food for her? I wander if she may have a placenta inside of her? do you know if she has fever? give her water and electrolyte and take her or call a vet as soon as possible.

One would think that you would get the dog SPAYED so that would not keep happening!!!!!!!! Please, SPAY THE DOG!!
It can be an anatomical problem with the uterus, a virus, one of many other medical problems. You could ask your vet.
The bottom line is the dog should get fixed. It is probably in need of some rest from being a puppy machine anyway.
