Both work great. The dumbell offers more range of motion.

Barbell first to get the correct range of motion, then dumbell. The work extra muscles, but first you need to get a correct rythme down. Do the barbell for 3-4 weeks, then switch to dumbell for 3-4 weeks. Back and forth to keep the body guessing. Good luck.

"Barbel is more a direct excersize"
ACTUALLY.....the barbell bench press is about 90% shoulders/arms which will tire out before your chest is tired out....then 10% chest....so NO it doesn't work it more directly
"dumbell helps build your balancing muscles and good for outer and inner chest definition"
Yes it does take more muscles into play because you have to stabalize the weight also...but most people simply dont lower the weight enough to see any real benefits
BUT as for it working the 'inner chest' there is not 'inner chest' muscles as the chest is split up vertically...so theres 3 portions....an upper, middle and lower....no middle and outer......and I dont care what anyones cousin's cousin told them because 'their cut and should know'(or some other bs reason), its just WRONG.....look up an anatomy diagram to see for yourself
"you should use both equal"
this is thhe only good advice in here

Yes-dumbbell bench presses are better than barbell bench press because you can come down farther-therefore giving you a bigger range of motion and opening up the chest more.

you should be using both....
regarding the "upper, middle, chest, etc." it doesn't matter if a muscle has one head or two, it either contracts or it doesn't. if the muscle is contracting it will get stimulated.
and you can not base the mechanics of an exercise based on local muscle fatigue. if you are training for strength you can usually get away with 2 different exercises. if training specifically for hypertrophy you should always stimulate a muscle from various angles as an attempt to stimulate the maximum numbers of muscle fibers.
