Look Rich,
Nobody on here can answer that question without talking to you and running tests. Many of the suggestions given here may well be right, but we don't know. There may well be some nutrient that you're missing and you're in starvation mode because of that , but I don't know.
Anybody in your situation needs to consult a properly qualified nutritionist. Nutritionists can assess your food, your metabolism and your needs.
That way you can lose weight naturally and safely.
Good luck with it.

I agree that you may not be eating enough. And do drink lots and lots of water. No soda or sugary drinks. I would pass on the gravy too and maybe hit the veggies with a bit of olive oil, a squeeze of lemon, and a dash of salt. Eat fish and lean chicken. Oatmeal for breakfast sweeetened with honey and cinnamon is a good day starter. Don't forget the dairy. Yogurt and skim milk!

If you have been exercising for a while you may have hit a plateau and need to change your routine. Instead of walking 3 miles, run them. You will definitely see a difference if this is the case.

Be consistent with your diet and workout. Most importantly, I think, is the exercise. If you slip in your diet, just move on and get back to it, but be as strict as you can about getting into the gym or hitting the track.

I understand ur problem. If u are obese weight loss is required as it can ward off certain diseases while also giving u a asthetic figure.
here are some tips:
1. Eat properly. you should eat both veg as well as non veg to keep a balance. when eating non veg, take it in the form of curry or if fried use only refined oil(fat free oil).

2. to prevent craving of sweets use a substitute mainly fruits such as mango, orange, watermelon etc.. not only will u eat healthy but also stops ur craving.

3. drink lots of water to maintain water weight in ur body.

4. get adequate sleep, don't get tensed up as it affects ur metabolism.

5. never ever skip breakfast, lunch or dinner and reduce munching during free time.

6. use a mix of aerobic as well as light weight training exercise. sought a gym instructor to get a customed workout.

remember that wieght loss takes time and so u wouldn't find any immediate changes. so relax and good luck.

You need to join a slimming club. I can highly recommend Slimming World. I lost 6 stone with them. You don't have to mess about weighing stuff and can eat more or less what you want, making up recipes as you go and get advice from people in the same situation. Give it a go, you've got nothing to lose but the weight. There will probably be a telephone number in your phone book or they have a web site, www.slimming-world.co.uk. Good luck.

Eat porridge for breakfast, have a small bottle of very cold lucozade for lunch along with an apple and a banana or orange ( 2 fruits) and have a salad eg cajun chicken salad for dinner or some spaghetti with some garlic, cherry tomatoes, olive oil and a few olives. Make sure you drink alot of chilled water to fill you up

You are not eating enough and your body is storing what you do eat for energy and it is slowing your metabolism as you don't eat enough.

Eat smaller and more regularly and you will increase your metabolism and see the weight start to decrease. Also, you won't lose fat without exercising enough. Cutting down on food intake is a good start but you can't lose fat without expending more calories than you take in, so get exercising regularly.

Make sure you are eating enough. If not, your body will store what you do eat, as fat.

Also, try to vary your diet. The veg is all good but pretty boring on its own. Try lean meats such as chicken, oily fish such as tuna, beans and pulses and wholegrain rice and pasta.

The trick is everything in moderation! Remember your fruit too.

you could try the atkins diet, it involves eating no carbs, be careful though. You could go to the gym and find something in there that you can do (running machines etc ...) you can get a personal training session in most gyms for about 40 quid and with one they can tell you what you may be doing wrong and whats best to eat. Hope this helps!

try to stop eating carbs, rice, bread, potatoes etc. If you want a sandwich have pitta instead, it doesnt contain the chemical that makes you sluggish like when eating propper bread.

Dont use the remote for the tv, get up and change channel manually.

Get excited because the adrenalin burns off calories.

Don't eat potatoes. The starch is bad, and you'll gain weight. Drink only water. Eat more fruit, and exercise more. Good luck
