China. Chinese firms are advancing quickly into high-end products and industries and are competing for high-value activities such as engineering, design, and even R&D. The Chinese military outmans the military of every other "superpower". Chinese new construction rates are higher than the rest of the world - China is currently consuming 2/3 of the worlds steel and 1/2 of the worlds concrete supplies. Oh, and China is buying our national debt at a faster rate than the rest of the world.

So, not only will they be the next superpower, the other superpowers will be indebted to them...

US military power is NOT deteriorating! It is more advanced than it has ever been. US govt. is deteriorating. Too many people in govt. that like to straddle the fence, vote for something that is popular then jump to the other side when it is not so popular.

People say Pres. Bush misled the Democrats into voting to attack Iraq. Give me a break! When was the last time the Democrats went along with a Republican agenda just because the President said "come on guys, we need to do this"?

Do you really believe we found no WMD's? How about all the ones we found had "made in the USA" stamped on them from previous wars Iraq had against Iran.

Personally I hope the EU can get their act together and become a power to be reckoned with. I think it will be China. The US, because of it's ill advised foreign policy, is in "free-fall" as a super power. That is not only regarding their , self appointed care-taker of the world, but also their commercial sell off to "off-shore" interests, such as China. This has been done for the benefit of the wealthy few. The exporting of middle income jobs is destroying their tax-base. The poor do not pay them and the wealthy know how to protect their ill gotten gains. China & the Arab states have picked up the slack by investing heavily in US commerce & real estate. Hope I'm wrong, but I fear I'm not.

India has all the potentiality to emerge as a Super Power in the world. It requires the right leadership with a visionary patriot in the helm of affairs. There must be clear policy to strictly deal with divisive and anarchic forces in the country, otherwise no other country will accept you as Power worth the name.
