Well there are only 2 answers your going to get from Christians and both are wrong...the first is, Evolution and the bible can go hand in hand because god has not time frame..which is bull because the bible explains the 7 day rule more then once, secondly they will say that the devil is manipulating data...which of course is a delusion.

Actually, there is no evidence of billion year old earth. It's the scientists that have made mistakes. Yes, I wrote mistakes.
What the scientists DO NOT REVEAL are the discoveries which CONTRADICT their other mistakes. You have to do some real digging through papers to find out the real deal.
As for the Bible, It hasn't lied. In many parts it is very specific on years and dates so if one would carefully follow it through, it would take you as far back as the creation around 4004 B.C.
But lately there's been some debate, some say off by a few hundred years.
What it amounts to is if the scientists approach their work, or the Bible with a pre-conceived belief as to whether God exists or not. If they do not believe God exists, theer work and findings try to back that up. If they do believe, they try to reconcile things. Sometimes not.

Does the bible itself say the world was created 6000 years ago, or did man, with various bits of evidence from history- to get a pretty close timeline of the Biblical events- say it? Now please, if you say the Bible says it could you show me chapter and verse....because i would like to see the "lie"..or who is very mistaken about what exactly is in the Bible.
Yes and of course the proof that the world is millions of years old is kind of calculated for sure by man in man made calculations.

I don't think the Bible says exactly how old the world is. The generations of people may be 6000 years, but that is if there aren't any skips in the genealogy. But the Bible says that 1000 years is a day to the Lord, and a day 1000 years. So I don't see this as being "exact" but many 1000's of years of creation. This would agree with science.

Some fool with nothing better to do, in a misguided attempt to support his flagging faith, added up all the generations stated in the bible back to adam & eve and came up with a figure of about 4000BC. Then you get idiot like baby k who believe it even though all the evidence indicates the world is about 5 billion years old.

You are deceived if you think that you have proof that the world is billions of years old. That is not a provable issue since no one was there. When you find a fossil, the only thing that proves is that there is a fossil. It is evidence of a creature that previously existed but not proof of it. IT all lies in how you interpret the "evidence". Evolutionists interpret it to fit their concept of what happened. Creationists interpret it to fit theirs. I have asked evolutionists to prove or give evidence that a fossil is millions of years old and all they do is seek to mock me and tell me I am too "stupid" to understand it. Why don't you produce this "proof" that you have.

I never read anything in the Bible that says the world was created 6000 years ago and I've read it cover-to-cover many time and many different versions.
Are you sure you read that in the Bible or are you going by what some preacher or religion tells you?
There is a BIG difference between what God has wrote in the Bible and what man made dogma states.

Technically the bible does not say when the earth was created.
A Theologian went to the effort of adding up the ages of the patriarchs, and reached the conclusion that the Earth was created 4004 BCE.

The bible is allegorical. In historical Christianity the Genesis was not seen as literal, in fact it was seen as allegorical for esoteric realities. Do a review or study of the Ante-Nicene Early church fathers (A.D - 3rd century), and read up on the branches of jewish mysticism.

Some people claim to have determined this by counting the years and the lineage, (family trees), of poeple in the Bible. I
tried to do it once to see if it's true, but got confused. I would like to see proof of this claim.
