Salaat - prayer 5 times a day
Nafl (Voluntary) prayer
Fasting
Zikr - Remembrance of Allah
Haj or Umrah - Pilgrimage
Zakaat - Poor-due
Charity
Helping others
Refraining from sins
Almost anything GOOD, which is done with the intention of pleasing Allah, can count as an ibadat and result in sawaab (reward).

First I would like to congratulate you on your new chosen path.
As A mulsim myself, at this stage I would advise you more to explore you own personal relation with god from a spiritual aspect rather than a ritual aspect.
ie: develop your soul to god relation and gather all you can get on Islam from credible and moderate sources.
Moderate is key now, as there is too much extremizm these days and moderates have a very low voice.
Then you can work on the Ibadat or rituals like prayer, Fasting, zakat and Haj.
By the way that was the same pattern, our prophet Mohamed PBUH has introduced Islam to people in doses.
Good Luck its a lovely path of knowledge.

A muslim pray 5 times daily - Subuh (dawn), Zohor (midday) Asar (late afternoon) Maghrib (dusk) and isyak (evening). Each prayer has 2,4,4,3 and 4 rakaat respectively.
You need to learn to take whudu (cleansing yourself) first before you pray. Then, you need to find east (the direction of the sun setting) This is the direction of where you stand to pray.
A prayer is started with a niat...
I feel it is best for you to learn from looking and experiencing them. The place where you embraced Islam,.. they should be able to offer you more help.
*hugs* I wish you the best... Assalamualaikum... never be shy to ask questions you do not know... and always get answers from appropriate people or sources...

Why would you convert to a religion before taking the time to learn all about it first? I studied Judaism for 3 years before I converted from Christianity to Judaism. How can a person convert to a religion without knowing what all it is about?

The papacy is the oldest Intuition in the world .- How could it survived without the grace of God & the guidance of the Holy Spirit.........The Holy Spirit did not convert to Islam in 610AD or Lutheranism in 1517AD or Calvinism in 1540s AD ...There's no comparisons...................The truth is , they Catholics give us the first Bible..the rest of religions intrepid it differently & formed counterfeit religion's groups...which inturn give us supermarket christens;.......pick & choose laws to suit themselves [ cool & new age stuff ] but has nothing to do with the scriptures....

In my opinion to chose any religion as a way of life is to lose who you are, and by doing so you give up your soul, spirit, and power to fanatical religious organizations that only seek wealth and power not spirituality, believing and worshipping God the father is personal, it has nothing to do with a religious movement or way of life, may God show you the light of way.
