Yes, it could be your disc but there are many other causes of pain into the legs that need to be assessed. Often an x-ray and MRI are ordered. An MRI will allow for the assess of the discs and nerves. Just because a portion of the disc is pushing on a nerve that does not necessarily mean that is causing your symptoms. The information gained from the MRI needs to be correlated with your symptoms. Also the pain in your back and the pain in your legs could be caused by two different mechanisms.

if it feels like a pain horizontally across your lower back... it could be gall stones.. and may need your gall bladder removed... see your doc.
