Wicca is a relatively new religion based on the old Pagan religions. We believe in Both the Goddess and God, revere the Earth and believe in tolerance toward other religions and beliefs. Some Wiccans also practice magic - the directing of energy toward specific purposes (kinda like prayer on steroids, although that's not a great analogy). We do not believe in converting others to our faith. And despite what some say, we do not worship or believe in the Christian Devil.

Wicca is a modern religion based on the beliefs of the Druids of pre-Christian Europe. The religion is primarily nature-based. Although there is no unified Wiccan church, most Wiccans share certain core beliefs:
1. Wiccans believe in the existance of a God and a Goddess. These dieties are considered to be equal in power, and Wiccans strive to maintain the balance between them.
2. Wiccans believe that all forces described in nature occur as a manifestation of the four hermetic elements (earth, air, fire, and water).
3. Wiccans believe that the reverence for and protection of nature is the best way to worship and obey the God and Goddess.
4. The primary maxim of Wiccan morality is, "An it harm none, do what thou wilt." Essentially, Wiccans believe that nothing is a sin, unless it harms another person.
5. Most Wiccans (though not all) believe that nature can be influenced by the practice of certain magical rituals.

Wicca is an Earth-bases faith meaning we don't believe in the Bible but in Nature. We believe that every living thing has a spirit and therefore is sacred. We believe that no one is more important than another, we are all equal. We have but one rule, the Wiccan Rede: "An in it harm none, do as you will", many wrong think this makes us anarchist or willing to do whatever we want for any reason but if you notice we do not bring harm to others or even ourselves. We believe in Karma to the extent that we believe in what we call the Three-fold law, which tells us that whatever energy you put forth in the Universe will return to you 3 times over. So if you do bad things, bad things visit you but also when you do good, goodness returns to you three fold. We believe that the Divine isn't an external force but is within us all and the Divine is both masculine and feminine which we represent as the God and the Goddess (many of us have different names for them individually), since the Divine is within us all we don't worship the Divine but work with the Divine to improve ourselves and the world around us. We tend to be very environmentally aware as we feel the Earth is alive as well and we must do what we can to heal Her and keep Her free from abuse, because we cannot live without Her. If you would like more information I would highly recommend reading "The Truth About Witchcraft Today" by Scott Cunningham.

Check out witchvox.com and the Wicca section under religioustolerance.org. You've really got some great answers to this question, but sometimes it's just easier to go to a website that has a pretty thorough explanation.
If you do a search on it and come up with any sites that say anything about Satan (outside of "Wiccans and pagans do not believe in Satan), you've found a Christian propaganda site. Of which there are many.
Bright blessings!

Wiccans follow the Wicca religion.
the Wicca religion is a composite religion that was began in the 1940s that was began by Gerald B. Gardner.
The Wicca religion draws on three philsophies. that Mr. Gardner learned over the years.
1. he was a Mason.
2. He went to India to work as a civil servant there, and while in india; he learned some of the mental mysticism of the gurus.
3. when he retired and returned to England; he learned witchcraft, and joined a coven.
People wll tell you all kinds of things about witchcraft such as "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" in the bible. This vers is a mistranslation, and talking about witches; it is talking about people who poisoin wells in the desert.
I fail to understand why Christians are so afraid to use the power of their own mind!

You have gotten great answers here about Wicca (with the exception of two answers that, as usual, are intened to use fear and their religion as means to scare people about us Wiccans, and speak about what they don't know).
Wicca is a religion of Love, not hatred, contrary to others that preach love and deliver sword. We believe in loving others, nature, and do what is good.
If you look at the answers I have given to attacks on Christianity and Islam, you will see that to us, everyone is our brother, with the right to believe in what they chose to believe, and hatred has no part in Wicca.

I believe Praire Crone. even nevertheless, Wicca grow to be popularized by way of Gerald Gardner, the ideals and practices come from a plenty previously time. i've got heard here assertion many situations "it is an previous faith, practiced in a clean way". So i think of it is the place lots of the confusion comes from. it actually relies upon on how technical you prefer to be or the viewpoint you pick to take. i do no longer think of you have been contained in the incorrect for attempting to remarkable or a minimum of refine her assertion to something extra particular. It sounds to me like she grow to be in basic terms being too gentle or had thoroughly mistook you. i can't remark on the Wiccan Priestess section as i'm a solitary practitioner. devoid of risking our protection, we ought to constantly constantly attempt to remarkable the incorrect information accessible. As Wicca is in a well timed vogue turning out to be in numbers the probabilities of fake suggestion spreading at present could be extra suitable. whether we are purely coaching one individual, it remains one much less individual preaching lies.

Wiccans are decent people but have strayed away from the commandments of God and by doing so have wandered into that dangerous territory of occultism, which is of course satanic in reality and nature, wicca is the worship of self and not the God of the Bible.
It is very dangerous and I advice anyone to stay clear of this practise.
