Given the recent "activities" involving high-up members of Her Maj's Government, amongst other things, do you think that the Police services within the UK should actually be under the management & control of the Judiciary, instead of the Government - if so why, if not, why not?
(I mentioned this to my MP about a year ago and he told me I had "dangerous & disturbing views", but then, he's a part-time politician, so I don't really give a flying fuc# what he thinks - if he was full-time, then I'd value his thoughts a little more.)

FrankTurk - actually mate, all the Police services in the UK come under Home Office control. The reasons we have regional services is twofold - historical and the fact that it's easier to manage a smaller region than an an entire country, in terms of command & control, fiscal management and so forth.

Incidentally, when was the last time a UK police officer was even charged with corruption, yet alone convicted? There is actually very little corruption in the Police here, maybe a handful of individuals. The concept of brown envelopes stuffed with cash changing hands in a remote lay-by in the dead of night is, frankly, a childish misconception, fuelled by Hollywood and young people's apparent desire to be from South Central LA, all "Gangsta" and "Ghetto".

FrankTurk (again): Yeah, righto mate. Why would only the Met be controlled by the HO, and not the other regional services? 30 years.

you could look slightly deeper and previous the spin and the mainstream media. no longer something is because it style of feels. the reason the immigrants get hand outs is with the help of the fact the government choose them. using large stages of decreased little ones being born and an strengthen interior the elderly who're approximately to retire. the government is stressful that they don't have adequate close by human beings to pay tax which subsidise the pension payouts. the government is reducing the borders and destroying sovereignty, yet you gained’t pay attention that interior the mainstream media. do you recognize that interior the US they are reducing the boarders and inspiring immigrants in to usa mutually as spinning for the duration of the media approximately how lots time and funds there utilising on controlling the borders. Are you in addition to could conscious that Bush, Mexico President and the Canadian president have already signed a treaty that amalgamates the three countries as one, making it one state. that's observed as 'The North American Union'. Now in case you haven't any longer heard approximately it, you could ask your self why no longer? maximum human beings are blind to this settlement. yet then the government count on human beings being apathetic and too glued to mainstream media to their own examine. Now right this is the main rationalization for reducing the borders.....It’s too wreck nationalism, togetherness. Divide and conker it relatively is there objective, human beings won't upward push up against the inevitable tyranny again using fact there'll be no solidarity, no togetherness human beings would be afraid and suspicious of one yet another. The North American Union could have all and sundry under one administration, till they have the international under one police state. To morrow the I.D. card, next the thumb print, then the attention test and finally their marvelous plan (certainty) to microchip us all like a canine!

If the police were completely independent of the government then it is possible, and quite likely, that the force would be infiltrated by individuals who would strive to introduce a police state and undermine the democratic procedures that define out great country.
Admittedly, the government don't seem to have a clue as to how to police a country, but the alternative is scary.

Apart from the met.police who are run by the home office the police in UK are not controlled by the government hence the reason there are different forces in different ares and not national police who are much more suseptible to political pressure.
All forces have a police authority usually made of of local councillors, magistrates and the like. The authority for the Met is the Home Office.DONT ASK ME WHY?

I like Jello Biafrra's idea (lead singer of the Dead Kennedys btw). He ran for mayor of San Francisco and came fourth with a platform that included the introduction of elected policing, so beat cops are voted in by the constituents of the beat. This way, the police would be answerable to the public they are sworn to protect. Makes sense to me.

If the police were controlled by the Judiciary there would be too much scope for collusion. The police are corrupt enough already.

neither, the gov are not ours they are europes servants, the judiciary are as bad as the politicians, some law lord has just denied the right of the christians to believe the word of their god in favour of the sexual desires of homosexuals forcing priest to perform same sex marriage and adopt children. this is the begining of the persecusion of the christians, by our bent law lords. the police should come under military control, with the queen at its head, who is the defender of the faith. this law lord should be arrested as a traitor and demoraliser of the british and his will should be egnored.
