John and Mary were playing at Patball, an outdoor game of their own invention. In skill, there was nothing to choose between them.
They were playing to 21 points.
Mary had the sun in her face. "Look here, John," she said, "with the sun where it is now you're scoring about 3 points to my one, I ought to have a handicap."
"Okay," John said. "Or why not change over at half time? Say when I've scored ten points."
"Right," said Mary. She considered. "After all, John, you did win the toss. Let's change over when you've scored 12."
"A generous offer," said John. "I'll accept it, all the same?"
What should be the result of the game?

WHen john has 12, Mary has 4 points. If she starts scoring three points to his one, then when he has 13 she'll have 7, 14-10, 15-13, 16-16, 17-19, she only needs two points to win.
FInal score will be 21-17 or 21-18 for Mary.

Mary is smarter because after they switch places she will have 4 to John's 12,if she scores at a pace of 3 to 1 as she mentioned.After they switch places though,she will need 17 to win where as John will need 9.By the time John gets to 19 she will have won with 21.You see he will have the sun in his eyes longer than she will.She had it for 4 points,he has it for 9.
