Probably, Osama was born into an elite family with a father worth billions.
He went to college in Lebanon and lived the night life while there,
boozing and womanizing.
When word go back to his home, he was brought back home and not allowed to return to Lebanon.
He was watched very closely and it was at this time he became a fanatic Muslim, ranting against all the things that he had once done.
When Russia went to war against Afghanistan, Osama went to Afghanistan, recruited Arabs to aid in the fight against Russia.
They were receiving money from those who wanted to stop Russia from taking over Afghanistan, including the U.S. government.
Since then he has been involved in almost every Muslim war in the last two decades.
Also there were other problems, Osama was raised by his mom in a home separate from his fathers, as she was divorced from Osama's father.
Osama felt alienated from his father and his brothers and sisters during that important time in Osama's life.
If he had been born in the U.S. to a religious Muslim family, he might have been a moderate Muslim.

He was an agent of the US before his usefulness ran out. Once he was of no more use he became an enemy. This is typical of the attitude of the US government. They tried it with Gadaffi, they did it iwith Saddam and again with Osama.
