Depends on the content of the messages
I know when I like someone that I will let them know through the context of my language and of course smilies of all sorts depending on their answers
Of course only he knows if he loves you, but you could lead the questions in the direction you hope he is going, flatter him, tell him how clever and nice you think he is, how you wish you could be together right now etc etc.........if he is interested, he will surely follow
