I desperately want a tattoo of an anatomically correct skull, but i want it to look like it's a sketch, with shading and all. Is this possible? And if it is, I'm sure there's an extent to which it is. If anyone can send me a link to a photo where someone has a tattoo that looks like a greyscale sketch, I would be so grateful! Otherwise, any light you can shed onto this matter would be a help! :)

With the right tattoo artist anything is possible. Check out the artist in your area, take something similar to what you are looking for with you, and ask them to see their work. If no one in your area is as good as you think they should be, travel outside your area until you find someone who's work fills your bill. I travelled 45 miles to get my tat done because that's where the artist with the best reputation and most talent was, and I lived by at least 12 tat salons. Be picky, be very picky, do not settle and do not just take someone at thier word, "oh, sure I can draw that" then you find out the hard way, they can't draw squat.
Good Luck

the first thing you need to do is find a competent artist. i have a tattoo of an anatomically correct skull. my artist found a skull online and drew it out but he didn't want to use normal colors. BUT with the right artist it is absolutely possible. here is a picture of my tattoo so you can see what is possible.

of course it is possible. talk to a tattoo artist and tell them what you are looking for. they will draw it out and you can make adjustments according to your taste. They then take that sketch and run it through a machine that enhances the ink and they "water" it to your skin as it will appear. then you go about getting the tattoo.
