For the past couple years I have gotten extremely lazy (for lack of a better word). I rarely have the energy to walk across the room. There are several things I know I could do that would make my life better, but I can't seem to make myself do them. I rarely leave the house (maybe 1-2 a week). I don't feel depressed and most days I am pretty happy, but I just don't have the energy or motivation to do anything. The strange thing is, I am not really tired at all. I get a good nights sleep. Most of the other posts I have read, the people complain of always being tired. That is not my case at all. I have tried vitamins and they didn't seem to do anything. I don't exactly eat healthy, or exercise and I can't make myself do either. It seems like I have no self control at all. What should I do?

Well you should go to the Doctors. When I had my first child I started suffering with something similar, and it was very difficult for me to accept that it was postnatal depression. Even though you might feel happy it could be something deeply rooted that's making you feel like this. You need to get your self esteem and confidence up, by the sounds of it. Get the desire for life back and start making the most of your life. It worked for me, not saying it will for you, but importantly visit your Doctor.

to tell u the truth....the only way out of that is healthy food and exercise.
you can start doing something new and interesting. the way to do that is make new friends or be around friends more.
once you start exercising...eating healthy automatically follows.
u need to be motivated cos so far it seems like you really don't want to be alive even.
the way to exercise is maybe get an exercise buddy or do a fun form of it, like group aerobics.
you'll be feeling great in no time.

GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR. to make sure its not something medical. could be heart problem or potassium deviancy.OR MAKE YOUR SELF DO THINGS if you can just get started and make a habit of it you will get use to it. I DIDN'T Want TO DO SOME MUCH NEEDED CLEANING on my kitchen yesterday but just set my head to do it and did it, now I FEEL BETTER THAT I accomplished it and feels great to know its clean.most of us would just like to lay and sleep I SUFFER FROM DEPRESSION AND ITS HARD to make my self do most any thing ,so that's when you have to force yourself or it will get to where it can be crippling ,move!go for walks every day it will help.sign of depression is lack of interest in going or doing things, see mental health counselor can help too.

I use to be the same way. Even though you are happy, you have a form of depression. Usually your family dr can treat you for it. I was put on medicine and it helped me a lot. I tried all the vitamins and they did nothing for me either, the medication, mixed adding some fresh veggies to my diet and this year I added exercise, You cant keep me down now.

You need to get some exercise. You can start by walking as much as you can. If you don't; you will eventually get so you won't be able to do your daily necessities. Sit on the floor and touch your toes without bending your knees. You must circulate your blood by moving. You also need to eat good nourishing foods to get your strength back. Go to a doctor if you can't do it alone.

Get help.
Depression isn't something you can feel on your own.
It's not headache.
Ask yourself...are you maybe getting too much good sleep?
Say like 10 to 12 hours a day?
You are definitely depressed but don't worry, just get professional help.
The fact that you're also trying to convince us that you're not depressed proves it better!!!

What excites you? Do Your have any friends that can help you with getting you out more? Do you have any goals? Get interested in an online class and see what you can do with it. Oh and also go see a doctor for a full blood check up.

Its more like social withdrawal.
You need to have a stimulus or purpose to get involved. Maybe a partner to get invoved in a task or hobby that will get the impetus going to get out of the doldrums

it sounds like you have agoraphobia... it is the fear of leaving the house
go see your doc and get some meds to get back on track, it is hard to get rid of, but if you want to get better, you can do it
hope you can get better soon
