Only if you're used to the known, which most of us are. We're afraid of the unknown cause we just don't know what's gonna happen so we use our imagination to the extreme. But some are not as afraid if they live a free life. Meaning, they don't care what happens next, they just want to experience the now, which I believe is the right way to live.

Death is the final act we perform on earth....most folks know this, but have a hard time dealing with it. Rather it be leaving what we know, we love, or the fear of the pain, the uncertainty of when and how, death is still rather hard to accept.
It seems that the older we become, we are, as Americans anyway, more prepared, or at the very least, resigned to die.
I am afraid of the dark...not the dark of a summer night, or the dark of the bedroom at 3 in the morning, but the dark hearts of evil men.

Not all time, Death is frightening when its the only thing you re going towards... But other happy people have responded to happiness and so, forget or trying to forget death.
Unknown things are strange, you did not see them before, you are not used to see them at all, make them frightening.
In my point of view, the most frightening thing are human beings.
