I AM RELIGIOUS BUT NOT SUPERSTITIOUS.

I can't help it since there are some habits I picked up in childhood. I won't (or try not to) walk under ladders but I know it's not really safe anyway so that's not a big deal. I also feel a little weird about opening an umbrella indoors but there is no real reason to do that in the first place. I cringe when I break a mirror and think about 7 years of bad luck but I've broken a few mirrors and never noticed the quality of my life suffering. I think about that stuff sometimes and I know it's all crap but I still find myself avoiding certain situations because of silly superstitions. It's just habit.

Those are the kind of things I consider to be 'superstitions'. Any other weird occurrence is just that and I have no explanation.

Not one bit... In modern English, the term "superstition" is also used to refer to folkloric belief systems, often with the intention of casting negative, derogatory, or belittling scorn upon another culture's concept of the spiritual world.
Many superstitions arose before and during the time of the Black Plague that swept over Europe. During the time of the Black Plague, the Pope passed a law that you must say "God Bless You" when somebody sneezes; this was said to prevent the spread of the disease and to cure whoever already had it... So to me superstition is only what youve been told to believe... if tomorrow someone tells you that if your lightbulbs blows you must shout out 'mustard is pink' otherwise you will get a cold then i bet there are people who would do it... but not me.

NO...but being superstitious has its positive effects if you really believe in it cuz it disciplines you...for instance, if smoking brings u bad luck...then being superstitious prevents you from smoking which is a health hazard...but of cos, superstitiousness means stupidness...

If by superstition you mean an act which is not scientific and which produces harmful results, then I am not superstitious.
I don't do anything that is blind and unscientific

But if by superstition you mean a spiritual or religious rituals, or bona fide scientific performance, then I am superstitious.

I am religious, which many believe to be superstitious. I firmly believe in Karma, while I believe that I should continue to do my duty and work out my karma, whatever God has given me in store.

As they say today, everything is connected. Or has a spiritual
bond.
Yes, there are many things at work we don't yet understand.
But giving into fear over them only gives them power of us.
A healthy mind automatically blocks them out. That is a gift
from Allah. A natural protection.
