Whenever you speak your mind through words, actions or art someone is bound to be offended, sadly there is no way around it. Before getting your tattoo do your research on the Internet and ask around to get recommendations.
As for your statement, I won't pretend to understand what southern black people have been through and continue to go through, but I would hope that by remembering the hurt of the past you would convey a message that shows hope for the future.
Good luck on your search.

I don't know where you are from.....but if you use the internet and research tattoo shops in your area, you should be able to find an artist out there who will be willing to work with you. And as for offending someone........have you ever sat down and looked at some of the crap people have tattooed on them? I would think that a real artist would be pleased to have some one come in that wants something with a little originality. Good luck on your tattoo

your friend should be fine, i wouldnt think he would have to get the tattoos removed, if they are visible in uniform. if you have sleeve tats, sometimes they want you to wear an under amor sleeve over the tat, but most the time that even depends on the unit. i have been in the AF for almost 8 years(SSGT soon to be TSGT), i have tats, and i know many people with tats in the AF. they will document what the tats are, and where they are. if they are not gang related, violent, crude, racist, or sexual, it doesnt really matter. besides, a rebel flag is not a symbol of hate or racism to anyone that actually knows U.S. history. i have NEVER heard of anyone having to remove a tat that isnt gang related, or any of the things mentioned above.. people come into the AF everyday that have tats visible, even in uniform. it would greatly suprise me if there was an actual problem with rebel flag tats. his best bet is to talk to a recruiter(s). AFI 36-2903 outlines the tattoo policy, but doesnt mention rebel flags. it can depend on the individual doing the approval. just give it a shot. but its very hard to say...its a touchy subject. with the way this country is going, being PC and crap, its gonna be hit or miss. sometimes a tat can be altered a bit (crossing the rebel flags with american flags). after you are already in, you can get close to whatever tat u want if its not visible in uniform. just remeber that everything offend someone, its a load of crap but its the way it is now.

Wow.... I don't know about where to get the graphic done, but I like it. Your description is compelling... and dramatic.
I'd brows around Tatoo sites, and when you find an artist that you like the work they've done.. ask them.
