Well, besides the virgin birth, the bright star that had never before been seen in the sky, the angels that play into the whole story of His birth, and the three wise men who were basically traveling from far away just to see the new King which they had determined would be born according to the star... those are all unusual, but that all gets talked about a lot. For me the two most unusual DON'T get talked about so much:

(1) Prophecy - There were (I hope I recall correctly here) around 400 prophecies made by men of old concerning Jesus, prophecies made many years before HIs birth, and several related to His birth, as I recall... the place of His birth, the town of His birth, the circumstances surrounding His birth, etc. The other prophecies were fulfilled over the course of His life, death, resurrection, and ascension into the sky ("heaven"). But the fact that His birth, and every major event of His life, was predicted years before His birth, is very unusual. (Do you need scripture references for all this stuff? If so, please post an update and I will try to find them.)

(2) Elizabeth and Zacharias - Elizabeth was Mary's cousin. Elizabeth and Zacharias were a couple "well-stricken in years" and well beyond child-bearing age. Before Jesus was growing inside her, Mary saw an angel who told her of Elizabeth being in her sixth month of pregnancy. (This same angel also told Mary about the fact that God Himself, and no human, would Father her child.) I believe that the story of Elizabeth and HER baby, combined with the way the angel informed Mary even though Elizabeth had informed no one about the baby (v. 24)... and the way Elizabeth recognized Mary as being the "mother of my Lord" (v. 43) without Elizabeth having ever heard from Mary about Jesus. It all ties together in a really neat package of unusual phenomenon. It is all in Luke Chapter 1 of the Holy Bible... there is more that is unusual too, like Zacharias being stricken dumb until after his child's birth because he did not believe the angel who told him about his wife's pregnancy at such an old age. 9 months of not being able to speak, imagine that. Read it, the Bible does a better job of relating the story than I can. Tres unusual! http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%201;&version=31;

All my best with your homework!! If you are writing a paper, feel free to e-mail me if you want more details about what I know of the birth of Jesus. Or post an update here and I will try to check back and post more if you need it.

The star in the sky?

The virgin birth?

The three wise men following the star?

The singing of the Angelus at the moment of the birth?

I'd go for the virgin birth.

The answer is in his mother's full name. The 'Virgin' Mary.

Of course, you do know it's just a story, don't you?

**what is the unusual phenomenon surrounding Jesus's birth? *

? Who is/was the father of Jesus ?

Walad - means son by physical contact ( sex )
Ibn – means son by ( adoption )

Psalm 82:6 (KJV)
I have said, You are gods ; and all of you are children of the most High God.

Gabriel = " The Holy Ghost "
An archangel ; the angel God used to send messages of great importance to man ; sent to Daniel, to Zacharias, and to Mary and others we have not mentioned.

The Bible Luke 1:26 - 31
And in the sixth month The angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.

The Bible Matthew 1: 20
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

The Bible Matthew 1:18
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost ( Angel Gabriel )

The Quran (Shakir)
[19:16] And mention Mary in the Book when she drew aside from her family to an eastern place;
[19:17] So she took a veil (to screen herself) from them; then We sent to her Our spirit (Gabriel ), and he appeared to her a well-made man
[19:18] She said: Surely I fly for refuge from you to the Beneficent Allah, if you are one guarding (against evil).
[19:19] He said: I am only a messenger (Gabriel ) of your Lord: That I will give you a pure boy.
[19:20] She said: When shall I have a boy and no mortal has yet touched me, nor have I been unchaste?
[19:21] He said: Even so; your Lord says: It is easy to Me: and that We may make him a sign to men and a mercy from Us, and it is a matter which has been decreed
[19:22] So she conceived him; then withdrew herself with him to a remote place.

The Gospel of Barnabus
Chapter 1.
In these years a young girl called Mary,of the lineage of David, of the tribe of Judah was visited by the angel Gabriel from God…etc ,etc , and so on.

Note : A
The rest of this portion of The Gospel of Barnabus basically tells the same story as Luke ,Matthew and The Quran about the conception of Jesus .
Note : B
Barnabus was /is the son of Joseph ( yes the same Joseph that was not Jesus’ Father).
This wife of Joseph was named Halsa. She had other children for Joseph also.
Note: C
To state that The Creator had physical contact ( sex) with Mary is not only wrong it is blasphemous.
The Physical father of Jesus was neither The Creator or Joseph . The Angel Gabriel is Jesus’ father !

Note: D
A human (baby) is created by the unification of a sperm cell and an ovum. This is stored in a suitable vessel (womb) for a suitable length of time (usually nine months ) until it ( baby) is delivered.

For a certainty the Angel Gabriel was /is the Biological father of Jesus.

May the Lord have Mercy on us all.

Additional :
I left virgin in, even though it has now been proved that this is a mistranslation.
The word that should be there is Almah ( young girl ) and not Bethulah ( Virgin ).

In conclusion: To those who believe this is in error,
please provide your documentation that Jehovah is the biological father of Jesus.

Have a pleasant day.
