She's actually almost underweight.....if she lost any more weight she would be too thin. Tell her to stop being ridiculous. HTH : )

Her BMI is 18.5, which is borderline normal to underweight. If she thinks she's flabby, tell her to keep in mind that fat doesn't weigh as much as muscle, so if she wants to look thinner, she might actually want to GAIN weight through strength training - not lose it. If she's purely looking at the scale, that's not a good indicator. Have her look at some BMI websites that can back you up. One I go to is: http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/

I think your friend is suffering from anorexia. 98 pounds is very close to being underweight, and is skinny. Her thinking thoughts that she is fat is a good indicator that she has a problem. Make sure she knows your always there for her, and thats shes definitaly not fat! =]

It all depends on her body frame as well but she does not sound obese.
She could be in the early stages of developing an eating disorder and I pray that is not the case. I work with adolescents who suffer from eating disorders and it is a very serious as well as deadly situation.
If she keeps displaying obsessive body image behavior, please have her seek professional help.

Your friend is most likely Anorexic. If she views herself as obese with a 98 lb frame, then she has a distorted view which is anorexia. Anorexia is a mental disorder which people view them self as obese even though they are usually underweight. She needs therapy. If her problem progresses, it can end up with death.
