I think exercise, cold showers, a slap in the face, etc. are all good ways to wake you up, but seeing as you have to wake up so damn early, I don't think you should have to put yourself through any more discomfort than you already are. I'd try a Kronik energy drink (the blue one is the best I think). I've had to get up at 5 am lately and since I really hate the taste of most energy drinks like red bull, my friend reccomended Kronik. It tastes pretty good, and it really wakes you up. You could also try coffee products that don't have so much of that coffee taste. A caramel macchiato or something like that. It tastes like caramel and has a lotta caffeine.

Actually, those Monster drinks (or anything else with Caffeine, Tuarine, Guarana and ginseng, etc.,) really do work. I will only drink the smaller-sized Low-Carb Monster. All the other energy drinks have either been too big, contained a ton of sugar, just plain tasted bad to me, or were a combination thereof.

The same herbal supplements combined in pill format are just as effective, however, they tend to give me a tummy ache. =( So, I can be wide-awake and energetically nauseous? No, thank you! =)

Also, try a multi-vitamin with a lot of Vitamin B...B-12, B-6, etc.

I take it you don't care for tea, either?

4:30. Ugh. Take a shower first thing. Cold if you really want a jolt. There's also these alarm clocks that wake you up naturally by gradually adding light to the room - a softer way to signal your brain it's daytime. Avoid turkey and milk first thing, they both have tryptophan - a chemical that makes you more sleepy (that's why they say to drink a warm glass of milk if you're having trouble sleeping). Finally, drink tea or soda with caffeine.

Take Spirilina or Hawian Spirilina. It is a natural product that provides the body with a plentiful supply of antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, protein. You take x2 tablets each morning, within 4-5 days you have a great feeling of energy and health and once you wake you are energised and ready not lethargic.
I recommended this product sooooooo much, you should ask others who have tried and how it makes them feel.

You should also know its 100% natural ,and absolutely no side effects other than good health and great energy!

I take multi-vitamins, they really work. I used to sleep 12-14 hours a day before I started taking them, but now I only sleep for 6-7 hours. And I can wake up very easily now.

Jump straight in for a shower. I'm up at 5.30 every morning and I don't drink coffee.

Take cold shower. or if you can't FORCE yourself to exercise for few minutes or just walk (vigorously) however sometimes you can do neither... at that times IMAGINE you do them. Your brain doesn't know difference between real and imagined things.
