To be honest, it can make a huge difference in the relationship. The more you have in common, the easier it will be to get over the hurdles life gives us in all our relationships. However, that said I think that there exists an opportunity for enormous growth in a relationship where nothing can be taken for granted. It means a deeper and clearer form of communication and more compromises.

If you are up to the challenge, then its worth the effort.

I am in a mixed marriage. He is from USA and Im from South Africa-met online.Different beliefs ... now that sounds doomed right?but trust me, love conquers all. As you get to know each other from day to day you realise that being with someone that is somewhat different to you keeps things interesting. Its a constant discovery and never a dull moment. It has much more advantages than disadvantages and love knows no bounds. So dont limit your life with similarities-its the variety in life that adds spice!
