Well consider this, most prison tatts are done with stuff like shoe polish, or ink stolen from various places round the prison, which is usually india ink which eventually turns green, I have heard of and seen guy's scrape the paint off the walls, disolve it in whatever they can get their hands on like say lemon juice and away they go with a guitar string, yes some tatts done in jail are great but they are FEW AND FAR BETWEEN. Aesthetic is a philosophy of beauty or art. So it would be an opinion. I tend to like tattoos that are a little more colorful and detailed than the average prison ta too.

absolutely not! prison tattoos are trashy and make you look like a cheapskate for not being willing to shell out for the regular ones. Being tattooed by a professional can mean a piece of fine art on your skin, something that is one of a kind and beautiful. Not to mention the safety issues involved.
