For the last 3months my cat has had a scab on her nose,i just thought she had a fight and it never really healed.Until yesterday when my sister said it might be cancer. Is it common for cats to get cancer and have it show by their noses. I know i should take her to the vet,but shes 9years old and what if the vet says he has to put her down.its my baby i dont want her to die.

I worked for a vet for 18 years and never would he have advised to have your animal "put down" because of a scab on it's nose. If you truly don't want you cat to die, take care of her. I think you are "putting your head in the sand" or your making excuses. Yes, it could possible be cancer, but common scents lets you know the sooner that it is diagnosed, the better chance for recovery. 9 years old is not old for a cat, she is just middle aged and could have many of good years left. Good luck, and call your vet as soon as possible.

take the cat to the vet for crying out loud. just cause your worried what the vet might say is extremely selfish. your cat could be in pain and just because you touch it and it doesnt pull away doesnt mean that its not in pain. the cat is only 9 thats mid life honey cats can live to be 22 years old. stop being selfish and get the cat some treatment

Just take her to the vet! If it is cancer then you want it treated as soon as possible. 9 years old still leaves many many years for a cat to enjoy life. Most of mine lived to be close to 20 years old, so please take her to the vet to ensure maximum life!
Her nose should have healed by now.

It's a hard time for everyone when this happens. My cat had this and I took it to the vet and he prescribed me medicine for ringworm on the nose. After a week, it went away. And he is fine.

I had to deal with a loved kitten that suddenly got ill. I wouldn't worry if her behavior hasn't changed. and don't be afriad to take her for that reason. they never make you put her down it goes by if you think she is in pain and its necessary. with my baby it was obviously her time at the end. If you need to you can find a low cost vet. But you should definitely never ignore a colored growth on any animals you care about.

It could be cancer - cats get it on light coloured areas of skin, like ears and noses. Best get your Vet to have a look. If it IS cancer, you'll be glad you caught it early on.
