I have surge protection.

Due to the recent storms (strong winds) in the UK, I have had to replace the power cable 6 times in as many days.

I am looking for a solution so I don't have to keep replacing fuses.

It is the fuse of the computer power cable that is blowing, NOT the power surge protector.

No other fuses blow.

There must be a very strong current flowing into your computer. It's a good thing you even have a fuse on it.

Often power outages don't cause a big surge or brownout, but in storms like yours it happens. Be thankful it was the fuse and not the computer.

You need better power protection. One that works like a circuit breaker not a fuse. They cost more, but you don't have to replace them when they blow, although in extreme enough circumstances anything can fail, however most of the better ones have warranties.

I dont think the problem is in the cable. Look at the power supply module in the computer. It sounds like a filter capacitor is breaking down.

The circuit you are using is over loaded getting hot too much juice going through it. So Figure out what all you are using in that outlet. and try to change as to lessen the pull of the electricity flowing through that circuit. Good thing you have serge protector. What all is plugged in to it?
