don't use soap! as well as being too harsh for your hair, it is itchy and will make hair look frizzy, dry and really bad!! really won't help your hair and it feels horrible too, believe me. a gentle shampoo will be fine!

No!!!! Your hair has natural oils that will be completely stripped away if you use soap! Your hair needs to retain some of it's oil so it doesn't get completely fried. Definately use shampoo, use salon shampoo with a low PH level for best results.

i know men with very little hair that soap but if you have any hair at all i'd think it would cause dandruff and dry out your hair. so i suggest if your hair is longer than like a fingers width then use shampoo to avoid that.

well ! there are a lots of lengthy answers given to you ,but i would like to give you a short answer , and that is "PLEASE DO NOT USE EITHER SHAMPOO OR SOAP ". It is better i you use natural HENNA to wash your hair and to give it an attractable look the just use the gel which comes out of the plant named ALOE VERA.
Try those out and if it works then choose my answer as the best one.
WELL SORRY I MADE IT A LITTLE LONG!

no no no
whatever you do dont use soap.
you will absoulatley wreck it.
my boyfriend has dreads and he use soap in his hair because it drys it out and makes it frizzy.
so if you plan to have dreads use it.
but if you have normal hair invest in a salon-only shampoo and conditioner that u can buy from hairdressers.
hope i could help.

shampoo would be better on your hair, soap could leave a residue.
