its my sons 2nd birthday in a month and dont know what to do.

i cant have a party as he hasnt made friends with any other toddlers yet as he dont go nursery just yet.

its hard taking him to a restaurant as he plays up but i'd try again to get him used to going out for meals.

i have a 9month old baby too so she needs a little attention.

any ideas are welcome. oh i have no family support either so i cant involve them.

also, what prezzie can i get him as its just been xmas and he had everything he could have possibly needed then

we took our daughter to Chester zoo for her 2nd birthday which was in feb last year, she loved it and you can take the little one too.

if you don't fancy braving the cold how about something inside like a sea life centre, kids love fish or any kind of animal. so i think you would be fairly safe with anything along them lines.

where ever you decide to go you could make it into more of an event by maybe getting him a dressing up costume eg, trip to the zoo = lion outfit. or a special teddy to take with him on his day out a eg, shark / fish teddy to take to sea life centre.

i hope you enjoy your day, what ever you decide to do i am sure he will love it.

Just make a big fuss. Put balloons up etc etc and make him feel special. Maybe plan a train trip - all kids love those, or lots of little things that keep his attention going.
Don't spend a fortune on the day and don't plan a big event too far from home, because it really won't be appreciated. My daughter doesn't remember her 2nd birthday, so I wonder why I bothered!
As for pressies, I know what you mean - it's a nightmare! Our house has been taken over by toys! Can't offer any advice there!

why not just wrap up warm and take him to a duck pond feed the ducks then when you get home have a picnic on the floor with a blanket have lots of sweets and cakes and treats, blow some balloons up but them all over the floor and put a banner or 2 up on the wall. He will have a fab time and you can also give your little girl the attention she needs (she might even have a sleep while you push her round the duck pond).

I don't know your location, but in our region we have both 'Mister Twisters' and 'Giants Den' chains of recreation centres which are ideal for toddlers and kids up to 10 year olds. They have allsorts of stuff like ball pens and slides etc. etc. And it's not too expensive.

As far as pressies are concerned, just get anything from an early learning centre or similar (if he's anything like ours he'll probably just play with the box anyway!!)..

Hope this helps...

Don't make a big deal of it, just celebrate at home with him and your baby. Maybe make a little cake with two candles. Get a little car from Woolworths and wrap it up - he'll be thrilled. Small children haven't any idea of value and to be honest, the unwrapping itself is more exciting for them than what's inside.

he won't remember it, but it is nice to mark the day and make a fuss of them on thier birthday.A cke with a candle and soemthing small to rip open is all he needs.Take a photo,so you will have it when he is older. Waht a bout a picnic lunch a tthe park, feed the ducks and eat the cake :)

just have something at home,or you could take him to a restaraunt with a play area where he can play with other kids and then have something to eat.
Don't worry about presents he's only 2 i'm sure a few sweets and balloons will mean the world to him.

how about taking him to a soft play with his little sister, or see if there is a cbeebies show on anywhere, we had ours on the 2nd jan at newcastle arena. go to aloud.com, type in your local arena and it will tell you what shows are on, theres always stuff for kids.

good luck
