Ginkgo biloba is said to be a useful herb in boosting memory.

For elderly patients with dementia, there are a variety of medications to help improve memory functions - eg donepezil

I have read an excellent book called "Harry Lorraine's Page A Minute Memory Book" - I'm not sure if it still available in print. However, in it Mr Lorraine points out that ANY method to improve memory works to some degree because it at very least improves attention. Paying attention to any fact or incident improves the recall of that fact or incident.

There are many memory systems available. Other than the one by Harry Lorraine, I am not sure of any current ones to recommend.

There are some good wiki pages discussing techniques of memory.
