The most correct translation is "Ti/le/vi auguro una buona giornata" ("I wish you a nice day") "ti" when talking to a friend, a workmate, a member of your family, etc; "le" when talking to everybody else (somebody you don't know, your boss, your teacher, etc); "vi" is plural in both cases.
But "Have a nice day" could sometimes also mean "Have fun"; if so, a more appropriate translation is "Divertiti" (informal) "Si diverta" (formal), "Divertitevi" (plural)

Buona giornata, if it's before 6 pm. And:
buona serata, if it's after 6 pm.
buon fine-settimana, if it's for the week-end
