When I lived in South africa and wanted to renew my UK passport I just contacted the British Consulate in Durban and got the necessary forms.
So I think you should contact the SA embassy and ask them how to go about it.

give them a call,I'm sure they are in the phone directory,next time use the search engines to search for their on line address,most embassies are on line these days
