Not really, I train my lab at petsmart for 100 dollar for a 6-8 week course and it's worth it. you can also check to see if your local YMCA does dog training or local shelter which would be cheaper, but not all trainers are very good or the same as others, so do your homework first. If you have a big dog or an aggressive breed it's worth doing your homework to find a trainer. My lab is getting big but he is 8 months and very playful and likes to bite and with his teeth grown in, he needs to be trained so that he does not accidentally bite someone else hard or accidently harm others because he is by nature too playful. Being in control is important, you have to know how to keep your dog in check in case he gets out of control.

If you have any stick to it ability by all means find a class where the instructor works with YOU and your dog. The doggy boot camp where you pay the instructor to board & train your dog ends up with a dog who know how to listen to the instuctor - you on the other hand.... thats debatable.
Most in my area are mostly between $60-$100 usually per 9 weeks

It all depends on the instructor and the length of the class. It only cost me $80 for a 6 week session and my dogs really benefited from it. Ask your vet for a list of instructors and then you can price them locally.

Why bother? I like my dog the way she is. Undisciplined troublemaker.
