If your Council gives you a recycling box for food tins, problem solved. Otherwise you may find that there are recycling skips at your local Council Controlled Tip.

You could always take them to Goodwill. Those types of tins are often used as collectibles but are also used for craft projects or for organizing. As a crafter I often peruse Goodwill looking for trinkets and such. You could also offer them to local elementary schools or places that offer children's programs. Teachers like them for crayons, beads, pencils, etc.

If they are metal then your local council should be collecting them along with normal food tins (eg baked beans), aluminium foil etc. Ours does ...

Most councils now run recycling centres which accept such things. (UK) They have bins specifically for metals.
Organisations such as Oxfam may be able to use them.
