Up to date Reports on assignments, projects, etc for every class (and complete information on their grades for each)
Attendance Records by class by day
Links to various school clubs, activities, and events
E-Mail links to instructors (if the child can't understand the assignment, and the parent even finds the instructions unreadable as well ... which DEFINITELY happens quite often)
School Schedule, School Closings, Semester Grades
Links to state test prep sites
PTA minutes
School Newsletter/Paper/whatever
Awards of the school, students, etc
home and away activities
Reunion information, link to school's own alumni website
Way for parents to Order their child's yearbook, special class supplies, uniforms, whatever ON-LINE and without having to send money with their child to school (which does not get there ... is lost or stolen (more likely), or used by the child in other ways that the parent did NOT want).
Link to request Parent-Teacher Conferences, at times CONVENIENT to the PARENTS (meaning AFTER work, and NOT at 2PM when most people are STILL on the job!)
Evening Events --- things like College Info Nights.
Links to GED or alternative school options
Ability to choose their courses or complete their registration for the next year ON-LINE instead of in person at the school.

Something on tools for parenting, child care and new ventures undertaken by the school. Possibility to get in tocuh with teachers. List with names of outstanding students. Staff involvement in nation building, information on updating courses for the staff etc. may create better interest.

and an online attendance record would be useful so parents can check their kids are not skipping classes
