Sounds like you should have no problems. Northern Rock are a excellent company to deal with.
We currently have a loan with them and found them very help full.

Whether you will be accepted or not depends on a lot of factors. They will do a credit check on you to make sure that any other credit agreements that you have had have been kept up to date and you haven't missed any payments. You say that you have never been in debt but even if you have had things on buy now pay later (ie from Curry's, Comet etc.) this will still show on your file. It is not always a good thing to have no debt either, since they then don't know if you will be a consistently good payer as they have no information to rely on. If you have a Bank account, i.e with a cheque book and debit card, this will go in your favour if it has been well conducted. The electoral roll should not be a huge issue, providing that you can prove your address by way of bank statement/utility bill. Although Northern Rock do have a good reputation, I would always be inclined to go into a high street bank and apply in person, you then have an advisor to go through all of this information with you. Where I work, in alot of cases, we can give a decision on a loan in approximately 20 minutes. If we need further information, we can tell the client immediately, therefore saving any further delay. Just a n idea for next time. Also, check the APR (percentage rate) that you will be paying with Northern Rock. Sometimes they will accept you but increase the interest rate ifyou do not "tick all the boxes". Good luck, if they decline you, you can obtain a copy of your credit file online at www.equifax.co.uk or www.experian.co.uk. Or you can send a cheque for £2 and they will sen you a copy by post. Hope it goes OK.

Try www.surefirefinance.co.uk you can apply online and they will get the best rates if you have a good credit history and can help if you have a poor credit history (secured loans).

They will only accept you if you can prove where you lived for the last few years. Being on the electoral register would have helped you a lot.
