I had that same problem. I got an Ionic Breeze...you can order them on line or at any major department store. Sharper Image has them too. It works great! Just make sure to do regular dusting of your furniture as well.

Helped my allergies so much!

there are many kinds of air cleaners, the problem could be years of dust built up in the heat ducts, the furnace filter may need cleaning, and you can buy an electrostatic air cleaner for a furnace, but you can also buy small fans with filters on them , they constantly recirculate the air at a low speed, and they pull the air through a filter that you will have to either wash or change quite often. the less fabric you have in a room the less dust you will have, wash your drapes, if you can use just blinds or something that eleminates the fabric of the drapes, leaving dirty clothes around makes a lot of dust too, lots of blankets, wash everything that can be washed. if you have to have carpeting, vac it every day for a while, if the vac emits dust, get another one or borrow a much better one, rent a steam cleaner and wash the carpet with it, that will get rid of a lot of dirt that breaks down and becomes dust, but carpet, and blankets and drapes all break down as well and become dust. also paper trash eventually emits dust, particularly toilet paper and tissues, its amazing how much dust they make. clean the room from ceiling to floor and every crevice in between, then get a little filter fan, and your dust problem from that point on should be less. good luck.oh, take the grate off your heat ducts and at least run a vac hose down it a way and suck up any dust you can manage.

There are tons of air purifiers on the market. Buy one of those and get a Swiffer and use it to dust occasionally.

The Sharper Image makes an air purifier... I believe it's the best on the market. (Or so they claim)

Yes, it is possible to purchase machines that purify and moisten the air. Your local chemist should be able to provide you with information.

Best wishes, J
