I think it leads to catatonic schizophrenia which will result in the person not seeing the point in eating or drinking and this indirectly leads to their death through starvation or dehydration. People with this malady are sometimes in the hospital being fed intravenously until medication gets them back on their feet. Those feelings of emptiness or sadness in and of themselves cannot actually kill you directly to the best of my knowledge.

PLEASE STOP CALLING YOURSELF STUPID, think of any name that is nutrial if not positive, as this name in and off itself tells yourself a negative, which you believe, which makes depression you are having worse and the cycle keeps repeating making it worse.

Can someone die of severe depression or emptiness. YES and NO!

Yes, babies who have what is called the FAILURE TO THRIVE SYNDROME, caused by not being held and nurtured, whcih is how a baby knows it's okay inthe world, so they get the message that no one cares and they can just give up on life, with draw, refuse even when an adult or care giver finally comes alone who loves them to bond, so they stop eating and die. So in essence they did die of a version of infantile depression or emptiness.

Many adults who have been married for many years, would appear to give up after the death of their spouse, fall into a deep depression and within months, sometimes less die if not treated.

The average adult who is depressioned and suffering the feelings of severe emptiness will not easily die from it, though they may stop eating, stop taking care of themselves and if they go unnoticed it could in a month or two lead to death.

Usually most profoundly depressed people if they don't get help would commit suicide before they actually die from not eating and taking care of their physical body.

You must be sad, depressed and experiencing emptiness or you know someone and love someone who is.

Get yourself help, ask for it, beg for the help if needed or do so for whomever you know that feels this way.

IT CAN GET BETTER!l

I have been suffering from post partum depression for the past one year when I gave birth to a baby boy. I couldn't stop thinking about how my husband loves him more than me and how things might be better if he wasn't born at all. Thus, I stayed away from him because I knew that I might do something I will regret for the rest of my life.

Almost instantly I went to a therapist and convince them that I need help. Among other things, I've tried herbal supplements and other book to treat depression but nothing works like the Depression Free Method. So now I'm proud to say I'm one of the happiest mother in the world. My husband loves us both very much and I thank the Lord for the blessing he gave us.

Depression Free Method?

I'd say yes because it can lead people to do things that they would not have done before the depression. things that are associated with depression is body pain along with mental pain. people try anything get their happiness back, drinking too much, street drugs and many other extrema things in hope of finding what they once had. sometimes people also look for permanent solution to temporary problem.(killing ones self)

I have to agree with the first poster. If you feel that way or know someone who does, please seek help. Although, it may seem like the answer at the time and that no one cares....there is so much ahead and so many people who will be devestated by that decision. I know from experience.
