I just started learning German, but what are some good learning techniques to learn it faster?

The best way I've learned -- study and immerse yourself in it. If you're learning it in a classroom setting, your teacher should have assigned for you a packet enabling you to practice hearing and responding to German. Use it and use it often. Visit German websites and look up any word that's unfamiliar. Rent German-language movies (one of my favourites is Nirgendwo in Afrika) and watch them with subtitles and then without. Listen to German music. Converse with other people who are also learning German or find German-speakers and converse with them. Find a German speaking online pen-pal such as on pages like europa-pages.com. Just generally immerse yourself in German as much as possible. (This is, after all, how you learned English).
