There is a huge rage of symptoms in schizophrenia and the effects are quite severe, they make people lose touch with reality and often make them scared of the world it creates them to withdraw from socially interacting and often their hygiene drops, unless treated it gradually degrades the persons mental health over stage and you will eventually lose them in the manner that they may never be their old self again so treatment is very important.
The symptoms are as following:
delusions- convinced of things that are not true such as people hearing her thoughts or her food being poisoned
hallucinations- seeing/hearing/feeling/smellin... things that are not there (smelling and hearing things the more common ones mostly hearing voices )
Random disorganized mood swings- I stress random, if it is periodic then it is not schizophrenia as schizophrenia is always random
suspiciousness- mostly of partners or friends
Completing tasks and hygiene tend to be things that slip up
Disorganized speech- conversations will jump from topic to topic with no real link and sometimes she will say very strange things that make no sense to us but have an underlying message to them
Sensitivity- emotionally or to colours and noises
Withdrawal from social interaction
Catatonic behaviour- the person may not move for hours on end
Schizophrenics tend to be at times placed into more than one category as there are different forms of schizophrenia, symptoms vary from person to person also.

Do you mean effect or affect?. Effect is the result or meaning of schizophrenia. Affect is the emotions or feelings assumed by schizophrenics to produce an effect.
The result of schizophrenia is a lifetime of medications and therapy there is no consensus on its meaning.I think it means you have been attacked mentally by some unknown entity.
The affects of schizophrenia are fear, withdrawal because of fear, loss of interest in your environment unless one feels threatened by it, compulsive thinking, confusion, Inability to concentrate because you are trying to figure out or rationalize what is happening to your brain, (if you do figure out an explanation for the voices or visions they call such a delusion.) The affects may vary from one afflicted person to another depending on whether he or she assumes the voices or visions are a part of their own mind or coming from something external.

At 35yrs of age my weight plummeted from 11 stone to 8st 3lbs Ihad heavy bleeding every day resulted in a total hystorectomy during this I was seperating from my partner of 17yrs and also bringing up 2 kids and working...
my partner couldnt accept the break up which was due to his drinking, which made him take me for granted, lie to me be verbally abusive then have no recollection of it, which i call selective memory, other factors for the break up where his attitude that he would never stop drinking which meant he was saying it was more important than our relationship and our kids..
what does all this have to do with schizophrenia your wondering!!
as he couldnt accept it was over he turned to mental abuse which made me depressed and doubt my trust in him he was showing his true colours.. He used my operation as the cause of my depression it was a bigger deal for him than me.. He wouldnt accept that he was adding to my condition with his behaviour it got so bad I just wanted to go to sleep and never wake up...
So I decide to end my life which failed as a result I was sent to a psychiatrist also at some point I started to hear a voice only when I was sitting in my seat in the livingroom I couldnt hear it anywhere else in the house or outside it didnt tell me to do things like harm myself or anyone else it was just there...
I told the psychiatrist this he said I was having audio hallucinations he presribed amusilpride 200mg per day.. These are used in the treatment of acute schizophrenia he never told me I was schizophrenic and I did ask on every visit and he has still to answer.. This all happened in 2000 i still take the amusilpride not every day as im supposed to but have never had a reoccurence of this voice even going months without my medication...
My partner died 4yrs ago it was not a case of he had a heart attack, he died in the local police station there was an investigation as they where negligent it only ended with total closure in 2005...
My hearing the voice didnt affect me dramatically I found it more annoying and tried to think why I could only hear ir in the one place.. I lead a normal life and it has had no lasting affects on me mentally im not embaressed to say I heard a voice or talk about my conditoin I have no reason to be...
So did all the factors contribute to this occuring was the main cause the mental abuse did it open up a part of my mind , brain that was lying dormant and the depression triggered it was it imagination running away?
I have looked in to schizophrenia there have been tests done to see where it starts or factors that could lead to a perosn having it at some time in their life.. The effects can be stressful for family and friends depending on what type of schizophrenia a perosn has and if it is treated properly none of my family know I have it or am it and even when I was at my worse they never considered thats what could be wrong...
I dont let it rule my life the effects at the time where bizzare in the sense that no-one beleived I could hear a voice as they couldnt hear it.. It was very real to me I just said to myself right ignore it it cant harm me or my kids it cant do anything to me psychally and I will not let it control my mind...
It happened I cant change that but I can prevent it from happening again...

the classic case is when an individual sees and/or hears things which are not really there. controlling the symptoms is often the course of action taken, and involves the taking of several different drugs on a daily basis, first as an inpatient to get the balance needed, and then as an out-patient to maintain the balanced condition.
for some, it is a very debillitating condition, for others, just a bothersome one.
