Clostridium Difficile is treated with antibiotics - usually oral antibiotics:

Oral Metronidazole 250mg 4X/day

Or

Oral Vancomycin 125mg 4X/day

In addition to the antibiotic therapy, your grandmother would need additional fluids due to fluid loss from diarrhoea. I would also consider giving her an antiemetic medicine to stop her from vomiting.

Perhaps your family doctor would be the best person to sort all of this out, but if she is in hospital I hope they have got all of this under control.

Antibiotics for sure, most of the time Vancomycin, or if it is resistant metrodinazole.

Following antibiotic treatment, it might be a good idea to supplement her with a good quality probiotic formula to help her build back her intestinal flora. This treatment is standard in some hospitals, and ignored in others, but it does wonders for diarrhea patients, especially if they got it after antibiotics treatment.

Quality probiotics can be found in natural food stores, and must be kept in the fridge.

get a second opinion. when people get that old they apperenly dont have the immune system they had before. also make sure all the clothes and the infected area that she has been laying on or been around are disenfected almost daily. there is something they can do too. i used to work in a nursing home and people got it and got rid of it. if she's in a nursing home apperently the STNA's and Nurses arent doing there job. report em'
