Read the insert that came with the meds. Diarrhea might be a side effect, if its not...contact your doctor. As far as making it better, get him some pedialyte and its good hes drinking lots of water. Keep dairy products away from him.

Antibiotics often cause diarrhea. I would keep him on pedialyte and not try to urge him to eat if he does not want to. It is better for him not to eat solid food right now anyway.
I would call the pharmacist (they often know more about medication than doctors do, they are more up to date on the side effects etc.) and ask him if another antibiotic would have less liklihood of causing the diarrhea. Armed with that info you can then call your doctors office and speak to someone about making a change.
Good luck, I know it is hard, I went thru the same thing with my children at different time.

if the diarrhea continues through the night and tomorrow, call your dr. and see if there's a different type of antibiotic that can be prescribed. this is normal for this to happen. i wouldn't give anything to stop the diarrhea unless the dr says it ok to do so. sometimes it will correct itself in a few days. as for the not eating, that's also normal. just make sure he's staying hydrated, offer some pedialyte and some soup. lots of times they will take soup over regular food. but i would call the dr and just let them know what's going on and ask their opinion. good luck.

This is my understanding: Your 2-year old has a relatively healthy little body that is doing what it can to rid itself of the dis-ease. Now it is also trying to get the antibiotic out fast (the diarrhea). Your child is not eating because his body's natural response is to fast and give his digestion a break during this healing process. He is drinking water to help with that, and will probably not get dehydrated as a result. Just keep the water (luke warm, not cold) coming. He'll be fine. Re the ear infection: lots of kids are better off not taking in cow's milk (meant to grow calves into cows) and have reactions to that that gets in the way of their normal clearing of ear infections.
All the best! A little honey and lemon will help balance his electrolites... real honey, real lemon, not some made-up chemical mix.

Flatulence is brought about by using gaseous build up interior the tummy, from the food taken in being broken down and digested. If little or no food has been ate up, Then abdomen acids may be working time beyond regulation. Beans are a stable rationalization for this effect. do no longer attempt to take a seat down her on a bucket, with a pillow on her tummy, and hit her interior the mid area with a shovel, as has been tried in the previous with little effect in third international countries. there's a difficulty observed as 'Rotovirus" it relatively is caught in particular from the paying for trolley handles and spreads relatively. wish this info helps

Call the pedi that prescribed it. It's a common side effect, but it sounds pretty bad in your case. They might want you to change the antibiotic!

if the diarrhea is so severe, stop the anitibiotics and ask your doctor an alternative for it. let him drink oral rehydration salts like pedialyte. so far it is the best tasting ORS in the market today and give it in lieu of water. if the diarrhea persists, then he might need intravenous fluids to prevent dehydration, but since you said, he drinks a lot, pedialyte helps to prevent dehydration.

Call the doctor. He may dehydrate and could be allergic to the prescribed medication.
