My friend told me the same thing two weeks ago and I didn't believe him, 'til I finally went over to his house to see for myself. I did a search for Spybot and went to what I thought was the Spybot website and downloaded it for him. When I tried running it... it would run but wouldn't clean until I paid $29! Hmmmmm?
I looked deeper an realized I'd been duped! It wasn't really "Spybot", it was something else similar! It was a site that switched on me!
So, realizing this, I uninstalled it and made sure I went to the real site next time and downloaded the real thing; no more problems!
If you think you may have been duped like me, here is the "real" Spybot website just in case:

When you install spybot S&D, theres a button on the left that says updates. Click that then click "Search for Updates" on top. when it has found all the updates, check all of the boxes down below then click install. When they are done, go to the Immunize button on the left. After it shows you how many new things can be blocked, hit ok, then hit Immunize up top.

Now that you've done that you should run a scan.

As far as what "idetection" is, I don't think that is part of spybot...
